Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.
Job Summary: Operate doubler-twister machine to produce yarn. Meet deadlines and production quotas.
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties in accordance with ISO 9001 work instructions and standards. Order yarn from other departments as needed. Operate doubler-twister machine Change creels of yarn that machine draws from. Monitor machine to ensure good quality. Work scheduled overtime. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Hearing protection in high noise areas and other PPE as needed. Follow the 5 S standards as described in the associate handbook.
Qualifications: Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Ability to detect color changes.
