About the Role The Field Marketing Representative serves as a primary trade marketing representative for Arizona retailers and market activations. This role partners closely with the Trade Marketing Manager and Account Managers to engage with GDL customers and strengthen the brand's presence throughout the Arizona market.
This role enhances in-market visibility through activations, merchandising, delivery of marketing materials, ongoing account engagement, product education, and event support. The Field Marketing Representative builds strong relationships with retailers by providing ongoing support and proactively addressing account needs.
Success in this role is measured by contribution to revenue growth through effective product education and strong retail partnerships, consistent activity levels, positive engagement feedback from sales leadership and retail partners, and overall market coverage.
This position is regularly scheduled Tuesday through Saturday and requires flexibility to support some nights and weekends. The role is approximately 10% office-based and 90% field travel throughout Arizona, with occasional travel to Colorado to support brand initiatives and events.
Responsibilities Staff in-store retailer activations and off-site events, driving brand adoption, awareness, and loyalty through engaging and informed interactions
Report on activations in CRM using established metrics and forms and provide reporting to Account Managers, the Trade Marketing Manager, VP of Sales, and Brand within one business day
Perform formal and informal brand and product training for new and existing accounts, proactively identifying accounts in need of additional education to support accurate messaging and sell-through
Educate store staff about campaigns, product launches, and budtender-specific content to build awareness and engagement
Support promotions and limited-time offers through print materials, promotional merchandise distribution, buyer and staff education, in-store merchandising, and retailer use of digital assets
Capture content at events, activations, and industry gatherings based on shot lists provided by Brand
Drive Seed Talent retail store course engagement through educational incentive reminders designed to build awareness and participation
Conduct merchandising visits to accounts at intervals established by Account Managers and/or the Trade Marketing Manager to support compliant brand, product, and program presentation and awareness
Install merchandising materials, including display assets, packaging, and collateral, according to trade marketing guidelines
Identify opportunities to enhance and expand Green Dot Labs' retail presence through regular in-market review
Review product displays and inventory levels in stores and report out-of-stock conditions to Account Managers through Salesforce
Report merchandising activities in CRM using established metrics and forms by the end of the business day
Provide insights and recommendations regarding merchandising best practices and market opportunities based on observations of retailer spaces and competitor merchandising
Administration & Market Support Review assigned booking requests submitted by Account Managers and confirm scheduling availability using the shared calendar
Create print kits to support weekly flower drops, campaigns, product launches, and order fulfillment
Submit quarterly print material inventory to the Trade Marketing Manager to support appropriate stock levels
Perform monthly inventory audits and maintain accurate records of display assets and merchandise
Submit monthly inventory reports to the Trade Marketing Manager, Brand Manager, and VP of Sales by the first Wednesday of each month
Perform quality control checks of incoming merchandise and display assets prior to distribution as requested
Enter detailed reporting for field activities in CRM before the end of the business day
Maintain regular communication with the Trade Marketing Manager and Account Managers while working in the market and office
Proactively identify potential issues and support timely problem-solving
Gather market intelligence during retailer visits and communicate relevant competitor and industry insights
Support product replacement processes, buybacks, and distribution of event and media samples as needed
Qualifications & Requirements 2+ years of sales or field marketing experience required; cannabis or alcohol industry experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with CRM systems required; Salesforce experience preferred
Strong time management, prioritization, and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable reviewing quantitative data and discussing relevant insights; data proficiency preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver's license, operational and reliable personal vehicle, and clean driving record required for travel
Ability and willingness to travel more than 200 miles to visit accounts
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain all required state-issued cannabis industry credentials applicable to the position and work location
Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position is based in GDL's Tempe, AZ office and is approximately 10% office-based and 90% field-based, requiring extensive travel throughout Arizona to retail accounts, activations, events, and other market activities. Occasional travel to Colorado may be required to support brand initiatives and events.
The position is regularly scheduled Tuesday through Saturday and requires flexibility to work some nights and weekends based on retailer schedules, activations, events, and business needs.
The role requires frequent driving and regular movement through retail, office, and event environments. Employees must be able to transport, carry, set up, and maintain marketing materials, merchandise, display assets, and event supplies as required to perform assigned responsibilities.
