NFI Massachusetts Inc., a non-profit human services agency, is currently seeking Juvenile Justice Community Workerfor our DYS Community Services Network programs based in Lawrence, MA.NFI’s community-based services assist in reintegrating court-involved youth into their communities after they have been committed to the Department of Youth Services (DYS).The DYS Community Services Network program works to ensure youth have access to adequate necessities, such as clothing, housing, and food. It also assists youth in addressing medical and behavioral health needs, as well as educational and vocational needs, which includes Pre-HiSET, HiSET (GED) and individual tutoring. In addition, youth and their families are introduced to services such as behavioral therapy, job programs, healthy social outlets and community service opportunities. Through these combined efforts of rehabilitation and community integration, the program’s objective is to make a lasting impact on the lives of the youth we serve, effecting positive change for the youth, their families, and their communities. The Juvenile Justice Community Workers work closely with the DYSCasework team to support youth with successful reunification. Support is provided through consistent supervision of youth on-site and in the community. The YSC also establish and maintain relationships with local community-based organizations and providers to meet theindividualized treatmentneeds of each youth. Duties include, but are not limited to: home visits, transportation to appointments, and the planning and execution of recreational activities. Flexibility after 5PM is expected on occasion along with 11-15 weekend hours per year.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth in a direct care role is required. A valid driver’s license and a reliable and insured vehicle is required.
