Our client seeks a dedicated Production Chemist to oversee and manage the synthesis and formulation of specialty chemicals at their facility in George. This role is critical for maintaining high standards of product quality and production efficiency. You will work closely with the R&D department on scale‑up processes and ensure that all production activities adhere to stringent safety and environmental protocols. Key Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise daily chemical production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.

Implement and monitor quality control procedures throughout the production cycle.
Collaborate with R&D scientists on the scale‑up of new chemical products and processes from laboratory to pilot plant and full‑scale production.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to maintain process continuity and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
BSc or MSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably within the specialty chemicals sector.
Hands‑on experience with common chemical synthesis and analytical techniques.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO quality standards.
Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage production teams effectively in George.
