About the role

b 19 is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy within the utility-scale renewable energy market that is continuing to expand its High Voltage Substation Engineering team. They're looking to hire experienced Substation Protection & Controls Engineers to support the design of collector and interconnection substations across utility-scale Solar & BESS projects. Whilst prior renewable energy project experience is highly desirable, this is an excellent opportunity for P&C engineers with traditional utility consulting experience, who want to gain exposure & an opportunity to work on some of the largest solar & battery storage projects nationwide. The position will be heavily focused on hands-on P&C design, including: Single-Line & Three-Line DiagramsAC/DC Schematics Wiring & Connection Diagrams Relay & Protection Panel Layouts Protection philosophies Utility interconnection requirements Full P&C design packages Multi-discipline coordination across Physical, Civil, Structural & Power Systems teams You'll be working primarily within AutoCAD Electrical, with experience using Substation Design Suite (SDS) particularly desirable. Ideal Background 6+ years of Substation P&C design experience Strong AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical experience High Voltage Substation experience Experience developing SLDs, 3LDs, AC/DC schematics & wiring diagrams Understanding of substation protection philosophies Renewable collector/interconnection substation experience preferredSDS experience highly desirable Comfortable working independently within a remote environment
