About the role

Payroll Specialist with SAP experience 3-6 month contract with strong potential for direct-hire conversion based on performance and business needs. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with hands-on SAP Payroll expertise to join our team on a temp-to-hire contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, system troubleshooting, compliance adherence, and optimizing payroll workflows within SAP.
Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing: Process multi-state, high-volume hourly and salaried payrolls accurately and on schedule using SAP Payroll. SAP System Operations: Execute payroll runs, off-cycle payments, retroactive pay adjustments, and tax recalculations within SAP.Troubleshooting & Auditing: Reconcile payroll discrepancies, perform pre- and post-payroll audits, and resolve SAP system errors or payroll variances. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and garnishment rules. Generate payroll and tax reports out of SAP.Process Improvement: Identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing payroll workflows and collaborate with HR/IT teams to streamline SAP payroll configuration and procedures. Vendor & Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex payroll inquiries from employees, management, and third-party vendors.
Key Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of dedicated payroll experience, ideally in a fast-paced or corporate environment. Tax & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of multi-state payroll, tax withholdings, garnishments, and FLSA guidelines. Data Management: High level of proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) for data reconciliation. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot payroll errors and system configuration issues. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client-service mindset.
