Parking Lot Attendant Under general supervision, provide security and protection for students and vehicles in student parking lot.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Control traffic and parking on campus grounds. Monitor parking lots for unauthorized vehicles or vehicles improperly park vehicles Register student vehicles and maintain accurate records of registration. Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.)Notify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate attention. Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors. Maintain a safe environment in student and staff parking lots Visually inspect vehicles parked on campus for unauthorized content including, but not limited to, alcohol, tobacco, drugs and weapons. Radio traffic should be kept to a minimum and used only in the event of an emergency. All non- emergency communication should be done by telephone or face-to-face. Assist administration in maintaining an effective operation by monitoring the halls and surrounding school premises. Monitor and report student behavior and student conduct in relation to the student code of conduct. Report conflict or confrontation between students and disturbances to SRO's or assistant principals. Reports tardiness, truancies, and other related incident to the appropriate school administrator. Perform other job related duties as may be designated by the school principal or designee. Check all students' hall passes and tardy slips. Escort student to the principal, assistant principal, counselor, liaison officer or nurse. Hall monitors shall not participate in time-out or retain any student in isolation, in a one-on-one scenario Watch for and report irregularities such as fire hazards, security doors left unlocked, and any activity. Direct authorized visitors to their proper destination; report and monitor unauthorized visitors.
Other Duties:
Huntsville ISD Human Resources Work cooperatively with office personnel to inform students of problems with vehicles (i.e., improperly parked, lights on, etc.)Assist law enforcement personnel as directed by school resource officer. Assist with traffic safety, including student arrival and departure. If there is any suspicion of abuse or neglected of a student, immediately notify the child protective services(CPS) division of the Texas Department Of Family and Protective services at -1-800-252-5400 for emergencies or -On the web at https://reportabuse.ws/ for non-emergencies and -aHISD administration
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None. Equipment Used: Two-way radio, golf cart, traffic cones, traffic barricade and barrels Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Continuous walking and standing. Exposure to vehicle exhaust. Works outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather. May be subject to extreme physical acts of others (i.e., restraining students involved in altercations).
