About the role
To support a growing team, the full-time California Disability Benefit Specialist will manage a caseload of disability claims, evaluate eligibility, and guide employees through return-to-work strategies in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities:
Manages assigned caseload of Short Term/Long Term Disability claims while ensuring timely and accurate benefit determinations
Communicates with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather necessary information and provide exceptional customer service
Analyzes claims activity and prepares reports for clients and management, ensuring compliance with contractual provisions and regulationsRequired qualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
2+ years of experience in STD/LTD claims adjudication
Familiarity with FMLA/State leave claims is a plus
Knowledge of ERISA regulations and Social Security procedures
Proficient in computer applications such as Excel and web-based systems
