About the Opportunity: A well-established MEP and fire protection consulting firm in Manhattan is growing and looking for a Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer to join its team. The firm has hired steadily this year, has very low turnover, and runs a busy, fast-moving practice with a steady flow of projects across New York City. What You'll Do: Design sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings in NYCDesign domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas piping systems Perform hydraulic calculations and size fire protection and plumbing systems Produce clear, accurate construction drawings in Revit and AutoCADMake sure designs meet NFPA standards, the NYC Building Code, NYC Plumbing Code, and FDNY requirements Coordinate with the mechanical and electrical teams on multiple projects at once
What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, or a related engineering field 4 to 5+ years of fire protection and/or plumbing design experience with an MEP consulting firm Solid working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20 Hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCADFamiliarity with hydraulic calculation software Someone who works quickly and accurately, can handle several projects at once, and takes pride in turning out quality drawings
