Director of Safety & Compliance – Aviation Ground Handling📍 Doral / Miami, Florida✈️ Multi-Station Aviation Ground Handling Operations🌎 Travel Required Safety in aviation is more than compliance. It is protecting our people, our airline partners, aircraft, equipment, and the operation every day. Grupo EULEN is seeking an experienced Director of Safety & Compliance to lead our airport operations safety strategy across the U.S.This position will have company-wide responsibility for our Safety Management System (SMS), Quality Assurance programs, operational safety, regulatory compliance, risk management, and safety culture within our aviation ground handling operations. We are looking for a leader who understands what happens on the ramp not only from a policy and compliance perspective, but also operationally. This individual should be comfortable walking an operation, identifying risk, challenging unsafe practices, partnering with station leadership, working directly with airline customers and airport authorities, and turning safety data into meaningful action. What You Will Lead Own, develop, and continuously improve the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Assurance Program. Drive safety strategy across multiple airport stations and ground handling operations. Lead initiatives focused on reducing on-the-job injuries, aircraft damage, GSE incidents, near misses, and operational risk. Identify safety trends and systemic risks and develop measurable mitigation and corrective-action plans. Ensure operations comply with applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and airline customer requirements. Lead and support IATA/ISAGO audits, internal audits, station assessments, and corrective-action programs. Conduct operational safety assessments across ramp, cabin, passenger service, baggage, GSE, and other airport services. Spearhead systematic investigations involving injuries, aircraft damage, GSE incidents, and significant near misses. Partner with Operations leadership to identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained. Lead company-wide safety briefings and safety KPIs across all U.S.Develop and communicate safety programs, campaigns, training, and company-wide safety initiatives. Provide executive leadership with safety trends, risk assessments, recommendations, and performance reporting. Serve as a key safety liaison with airline customers, airports, regulatory agencies, and other external partners. Key qualifications include:
7+ years of progressive aviation experience, with significant responsibility for safety, compliance, quality, or ground operations. Strong knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) within an aviation environment. Experience managing or supporting IATA and ISAGO audits. Strong understanding of ground handling operations and associated risks involving employees, aircraft, and GSE.Working knowledge of applicable aviation, occupational safety, airport, and airline customer requirements. Experience conducting incident investigations, root-cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective-action programs. Ability to influence operational leaders and frontline teams and create accountability around safety performance. Strong executive communication and reporting skills. Ability and willingness to travel, including on short notice when operational needs require it. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent aviation safety and operational leadership experience will also be considered.
