About the role
Hospice Volunteer - Cuyahoga County and Surrounding Areas Volunteer activities available...Sitting with patients to provide companionship, play games, and offer a friendly, comforting presence. Assisting in light household chores and errands. Calling patients and their families to check on needs. Making blankets, quilts, pillows, and crafts for our patients. Providing support to our bereaved families by assisting with mailings, phone calls and in-home grief support visits. And so much more! This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
Qualifications:
- Availability of time and skills which pertain to the volunteer activity
- Maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and take directions well.
- Empathetic listening skills
- Ability to understand and tolerate hardship stories.
- Time commitment is flexible and can work around your schedule and availability.
