About the role

To build predictive system-level models of quantum computers, the full-time System Modeling and Simulation Lead will develop models based on photonic and electronic system descriptions, translate performance metrics, and create user-friendly interfaces for cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities: Build predictive system-level quantum performance models by interpreting component performance and system configurations Develop coherent, reusable system abstractions that support control and validation workflows while masking unnecessary implementation details Drive model validation and closure by partnering with teams to compare model predictions against real measurements and quantify prediction errors
Required qualifications: MS in Systems Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 6+ years of experience Strong foundation in systems modeling for complex, multi-domain physical systems and understanding of signal processing Advanced proficiency in Python scientific computing and experience with production-quality simulation software Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences Intellectually curious mindset, comfortable working across abstraction levels and iterating designs based on evolving data

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
