About the role
- 10+ years of professional UI, UX, or game art experience, with experience contributing to at least one commercially shipped game.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UI design, visual design, iconography, and game interface work. A portfolio is required for consideration.
- Strong fundamentals in visual design, composition, typography, color, hierarchy, iconography, and information design.
- Experience taking UI concepts from rough exploration through polished, production‑ready assets.
- A strong understanding of UX principles and human‑computer interaction, with the ability to balance usability and visual expression.
- Experience designing for different screen sizes, resolutions, and aspect ratios.
- Experience creating visual systems and maintaining consistency across a large number of UI elements and features.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or equivalent.
- Experience working directly in a game engine and understanding the practical requirements of implementing UI in a game.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly explain design decisions and incorporate feedback.
- The ability to work independently, manage priorities, and make sound visual decisions in a fast‑moving production environment.
- A high level of craft and attention to detail, with a genuine passion for making games look and feel great.
- Nice to Have, But Not Necessary
- Experience working on a card game, collectible card game, or strategy game.
- Experience working on a live‑service game with frequent content updates.
- Experience shipping mobile games or games across multiple platforms.
- Experience with motion design, UI animation, or interactive prototyping.
- Experience with Unity or another game engine.
- Familiarity with UI implementation, scripting, or programming.
- Experience building or maintaining UI component libraries and design systems.
- Experience providing mentorship or visual direction to other artists.
- Experience working with Marvel, licensed IP, or other highly recognizable entertainment properties.
- Compensation$79 – $89 per hour
