Engineering Advisor - Technical SME – Wastewater Treatment Projects Remote (US)We're partnering with a leading energy infrastructure business that's delivering complex engineering and construction projects across the commercial and public sectors. They are looking for an experienced Engineering Advisor to support the growth of their Wastewater Treatment Plant business. This is a high-impact technical role working across project development, engineering, construction, and commissioning; helping deliver innovative wastewater solutions from concept through completion. You’ll partner closely with Business Development, Project Management, engineering partners, contractors, and customers to evaluate opportunities, develop technical solutions, and ensure projects are delivered successfully.
What You’ll Do: Lead engineering support for wastewater projects from early development through construction and commissioning Partner with Business Development teams to evaluate opportunities and develop technical solutions Manage engineering consultants, design partners, and technical deliverables Review designs, RFIs, and submittals to ensure alignment with project goals Perform site visits and support construction quality, startup, and commissioning activities Develop feasibility studies, specifications, cost estimates, and technical recommendations Identify value engineering opportunities and optimize project outcomes Build relationships with consulting engineers, contractors, vendors, and industry partners Mentor and support project teams with technical expertise
What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience)7+ years of experience in wastewater treatment design, engineering, or project delivery Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure Experience supporting projects through design, construction, and commissioning Ability to communicate technical concepts with both engineering and business stakeholders Strong organizational, analytical, and relationship-building skills
Preferred Experience: Professional Engineering (PE) license Familiarity with Procore or construction management platforms This is an opportunity to play a key role in expanding a growing wastewater business while working on projects that improve critical infrastructure across the country. You’ll have the autonomy to influence solutions, collaborate with industry experts, and make a measurable impact from project concept through completion.
