Role Description:
The 7–12 Special Education Teacher will design and deliver individualized instruction for middle and high school students receiving special education services in a remote learning environment. This full-time role includes developing and implementing IEPs, adapting curriculum and assessments, and using digital tools to provide accessible, standards-based instruction. The teacher will monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate regularly with families, general education teachers, and support staff to coordinate services. Daily responsibilities also include providing accommodations and modifications, leading small-group and one-on-one support sessions, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom culture online. The Special Education Teacher will participate in virtual meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives to support student success.
Qualifications:
Strong foundation in Special Education and experience supporting students with Disabilities, including developing and implementing IEPs. Demonstrated Teaching experience with Middle School and high school (grades 7–12) students in academic and inclusive settings. Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, educators, and support staff in a remote environment. Proficiency with online learning platforms, educational technology, and data tracking tools to deliver remote instruction effectively. Relevant state teaching certification or licensure in Special Education, or eligibility to obtain it within a specified timeframe. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field; advanced degree or additional certifications are beneficial. Ability to differentiate instruction, manage virtual classroom dynamics, and maintain organized records and documentation. Commitment to equity, inclusion, and ongoing professional growth in supporting diverse learners.
