Summary/Objective:
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of Philadelphia Ballet’s comprehensive benefit plans for all eligible employees including staff and dancers. This role works closely with staff, the Sr. Manager, HR Administration, Payroll and Philadelphia Ballet’s benefit consultants to ensure timely enrollment, onboarding and offboarding and accurate recordkeeping.
Essential Functions:
- Medical Benefits enrollment including onboarding, offboarding and updates
- Salary updates for STD/Life policies
- Leave of Absence requests
- Provide information and support to eligible staff for all leave requests including FMLA, Parental Bonding Leave, Short- and Long-Term disability
Work closely with HR Director on requests for accommodations under the ADACOBRAEnsure benefit consultants have information needed to issue COBRA notices 401(K) - enrollment/terminations, eligibility notifications, reporting, CensusFSA enrollment and administration through AmeriflexHSA notification and administrationOCA enrollments/terminations and administration
Work with benefit consultants to update carrier records
Review all Billing/Invoices for accuracy for all medical plans including OCA and Ameriflex
Maintain accurate and up to date files in SharePoint and BambooAnswer general questions about benefit plans and policies including steps to enrollment and/or termination of coverage
Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Expected Hours of Work: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work as required for the performance schedule and technical rehearsal schedule.
Travel:
Travel is primarily locally during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
Required Education and Experience:
- College degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in Human Resources
- Experience in non-profit organizations, preferably performing arts
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state and local laws
Experience coordinating and administering employee benefit plans including health and welfare plans, retirement savings plans, etc.
Familiarity with Microsoft office suite, SharePoint and Bamboo or similar HRIS management systems.

Must have access to a car and/or reliable transportation.
Must pass criminal background checks as required for role.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
