Drama Director Job Title: Drama Director Classification: Supplemental Salary Schedule: XAC Department: Building Reports To: Building Principal FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Date: April 2020 Approved by: Northwest Local School District Board of Education Job Summary: To prepare students to present quality school dramatic productions.
Job Qualifications: Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience in the performing arts preferred. Active Teaching license or Student Monitor Permit Essential Duties To attend and supervise all meetings, practices, activities and performances of the drama club. To help prepare the drama club for performances by teaching about acting, set design, costumes, make-up and lighting. To assist in the development of a budget. To supervise the deposit of funds and the payment of bills. To purchase, distribute and inventory all supplies, equipment and costumes. To collect fees and plan, organize and direct fund-raising activities. To select the plays and organize tryouts for the cast and crew. To plan and supervise set construction. To present at least two high school productions per year or one middle school production. 10.To collaborate with other activity sponsors, such as in the production of a musical. 11.To supervise the preparation of programs, tickets and publicity for performances. To keep students and parents informed of activities and expectations. To schedule light crews to work for school and community groups using the auditorium (high school). To encourage participation in Thespian Society or equivalent activities (high school). 15.To communicate with the administrators about all drama club activities. 16.To perform such other related duties that may be assigned by the principal.
