About the role
- Perform daily site inspections for highway and/or bridge construction projects to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes
- Measure and record pay quantities
- Prepare daily reports
- Review the Contractor's schedule
- Review and provide input on potential change order issues
- Review and approve Contractor's pay estimates
- Maintain project records
- High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Five (5) years of technical experience directly related to the highway construction industry
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to obtain WVTRET Certification within six (6) months of hire
- Preferred Qualifications (one or more of the following):WVTRET Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (Level II - IV)WVDOH Materials Certifications in Soil & Aggregate Compaction, Portland Cement Concrete and Asphalt Field - Compaction
- Associate's degree in civil engineering technology, or related technical field
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering technology, or related technical fieldNICET Level II or higher certification
- Previous construction inspection experience on WVDOH projects
