Commercial Class A Truck Driver/Crane Operator Southwest Boulder & Stone is a family owned and operated landscape rock and supply company based in Southern California, with retail locations in Fallbrook, Escondido, Pacific Beach, Chula Vista, Fullerton, Palm Springs, Indio and Gardena, CA. Architects, designers, contractors and homeowners rely on us for Southern California's largest selection of boulders, crushed stone, decomposed granite, flagstone, natural thin veneer, cobble, pebbles, outdoor stone fountains and custom are looking for a Commercial Class A Truck Driver/Crane Operator to join our team in Indio, CA.
Essential Job Functions: (Driver):Drive single vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more; the operator may tow a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,001 pounds or more. Deliver palletized material to both commercial and residential areas. Deliver palletized and/or loose material to both commercial and residential areas. Load, chain and bind palletized and/or loose material to truck. Verify order paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Communicate with dispatch to ensure order is delivered as efficiently as possible. Provide excellent customer service and ensure company standards are being upheld. Record and report any damage to material and/or equipment. Minor vehicle maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions: (Crane Operator):Drive and operate commercial truck mounted with self-loading crane with telescopic boom to job sites. Safely operate crane to load, unload and position heavy materials in designated areas. Utilize ground crews to lower and place loads in the correct inspect crane daily and report any irregularities to their supervisor with site and regulatory requirements to support the safe and efficient crane operation and product delivery. Comply with Cal/OSHA safety regulations and safe rigging practices Inspect job site for overhead power lines, uneven ground and other safety hazards prior to setting up outriggers. Place plates (when needed) under the crane's outrigger pads for stability. Come the crane into the correct position and attach and secure loads using the correct equipment while ensuring all loads are within approved limits. Properly rig materials using cables, slings and chains; inspect all rigging gear for wear or damage before each lift. Complete daily crane inspection reports, delivery tickets, fuel logs and documentation, as required.
Job Requirements: Valid California Class A Commercial Driver's License required Current Medical Examiner's Certification required Current Crane Operator's Certificate issued by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO)Clean MVR required Must be insurable under company's motor vehicle insurance policies Strong knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety regulations and safe rigging practices Meet all local, state and federal driving requirements Must comply with all DOT requirements Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Bilingual preferred but not required Education, Experience and
Certifications: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Minimum of 2 years' experience driving a commercial vehicle. Minimum of 2 years' experience operating truck mounted cranes. Previous flatbed experience preferred. Equipment hauling experience preferred. Local delivery experience preferred. Ability to operate forklift and other equipment safely. Basic computer skills preferred.
