About the role

Thompson Coburn is seeking an Intellectual Property litigation attorney to join its St. Louis office. Qualified candidates will have 6-12 years of experience handling patent litigation and other intellectual property disputes, including trademark, copyright, trade secret, and related commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have experience managing significant aspects of complex litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, client communications, and trial preparation. Candidates should possess strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills and be capable of assuming substantial responsibility on sophisticated litigation matters. Experience managing cases and serving in a lead supporting role is preferred. Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is also strongly preferred. A portable practice is not required, though candidates with client relationships or business development opportunities are encouraged to apply. All candidates must currently be licensed to practice law in Missouri. This position is open to recruiters.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
