Job Description
Underground Utilities Sales Representative:
San Antonio, TX | Field-Based with Regional Travel | Confidential Search A well-established distributor in the waterworks and underground utilities industry is looking to add a Sales Representative to grow their footprint in the San Antonio market. This is a hands-on, relationship-first role for someone who wants to be in front of contractors and municipalities, not behind a desk. What You'd Be DoingYou'd own the sales process from start to finish — spotting opportunities early, quoting jobs, following orders through to completion, and staying close to customers on pipe, valves, fittings, hydrants, and other underground utility products. Over time, the goal is to build out a territory that's genuinely yours.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, municipal buyers, and other project stakeholders
- Represent and sell a full line of waterworks products, including pipe, valves, fittings, and hydrants
- Handle quoting, order follow-through, and on-the-ground project support
- Hunt for new business across the territory while managing existing accounts
- Keep an active, organized pipeline of opportunities
- What They're Looking ForBackground in waterworks, utility distribution, or construction sales is preferred
- Someone who thrives working independently in the field and managing their own territory
- An existing book of business in the space is a plus, but the client will also consider strong entry-level or trainee candidates
Why This RoleThis is a chance to step into a growing territory with an established distributor, build relationships that last, and see the direct impact of your work on real projects — with strong earning potential and a lot of autonomy in how you run your day.
All conversations are confidential.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
