Job Title: Pharmacy Technician/ Prior Authorization Representative
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL 60007
Compensation: $20-22/HR

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, shift between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM (8-hours).HYBRID ROLE- 2 days onsite per week, 3 days remote About Our Client Addison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing healthcare organization that is expanding its operations to support increased patient demand. Job Description: We are seeking experienced Prior Authorization Representatives who thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In this role, you will manage insurance authorization requests, work within payer systems, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely processing of medication approvals. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable meeting productivity goals while delivering high-quality work.
Qualifications: Previous prior authorization experience strongly preferred. Candidates with retail pharmacy, pharmacy technician, medical office, or healthcare insurance experience will also be considered. Familiarity with insurance portals and healthcare documentation. Understanding of pharmacy and medical insurance terminology. Ability to perform basic math calculations related to medication processing. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Self-starter who is coachable, dependable, and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities: Contact Major Medical and Pharmcy Benefit plans to validate requests sent from Benefit Verifications Contact physician offices to obtain current prescriptions Contact physician offices to obtain clinical documentation required by plan Validate clinical documentation received is what is required by plan Initiate prior authorizations through Cover My Meds Follow up on all pending Authorizations within 48 hours Respond to urgent emails submitted by the Patient Care Team or Program Manager Obtain approval and denial letters Submit all new Complex authorization approvals and/or complex re-authorization approvals through the complex audit process Initiate re-authorizations that are set to expire 30 days prior to the term date Perks Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term career growth.
