About the role
- Perform complete setup, changeover, and operation of Haas CNC lathes with minimal supervision
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and use dimensional information to produce conforming parts
- Understand standard G-code and M-code and safely edit existing CNC programs at the machine when dimensions, tool positions, materials, or process conditions change
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, drills, and workholding based on the part and machining operation
- Adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and cutting parameters based on material, tooling, and process requirements
- Prove out programs using machine graphics and verify tool movement before machining to reduce the risk of crashes or scrap
- Complete frequent setups for low-volume work, including jaw, tooling, drill, insert, and thread-pitch changes between similar part families
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers and other basic precision measuring tools and make necessary process adjustments
- Hands-on CNC lathe machining experience that includes independent setups and changeovers
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and apply dimensions at the machine
- Working knowledge of standard G-code/M-code with the ability to understand and edit existing programs; programming from scratch is not required
- Strong understanding of cutting tools, workholding, speeds and feeds, offsets, drilling, boring, and threading
- Ability to recognize incorrect tool calls, unsafe tool movement, or other conditions that could damage the machine or part
- Experience using micrometers and basic shop inspection equipment
- Ability to work independently in a small-shop environment and manage work responsibly with limited supervision
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
