Train directly under a tenured industry expert and seamlessly inherit a diverse, thriving portfolio of projects.ð Premier Manufacturing Culture: Experience a workplace that balances a diverse business mix with a supportive, high-morale culture where engineering expertise is genuinely respected.Immediate Impact: Join a "busy-from-day-one" environment with strong sales and active projects already waiting for your expertise, ensuring you are a vital contributor from your very first week.About the RoleDue to the retirement of a long-term employee, a leading manufacturer in their industry is hiring a Cutting Tool Design Engineer to join their established team.Reporting directly to the Director of Product Development, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineering, operations, and sales professionals to support new product design and development.Key Responsibilities:Product Innovation: Design and develop new cutting tools and refine existing products to provide higher value and better performance for users.Technical Standards: Establish and maintain technical specifications and product standards for the company's tool catalog.Research & Benchmarking: Lead research into new grinding techniques and materials, and perform machine tests to benchmark tool performance against competitors.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams to align product designs with customer needs and production feasibility.Technical Support: Provide expert advice on tool geometries, materials, and proper machining applications.Project Management: Coordinate development projects from initial technical feasibility through production and design optimization.Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols (such as Lockout/Tagout), and quality manual procedures.Other duties as directed by management.Candidate ProfileThis is a hands-on position requiring a strong problem solver who can support sales and manufacturing teams, analyze data, communicate effectively, and thrive both independently and in team environments. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical thinking skills and enjoys a mix of desk work and hands-on time in test environments.Requirements:High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar cutting tool design engineer role.Proven experience designing cutting tools, including high-performance solid carbide rotary tools.General understanding of advanced milling techniques.Basic project management skills, including timeline oversight.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).Preferred (Not Required):Supervision of othersDirect customer communication3D modeling skillsExperience in Aerospace and/or Medical Device industriesBudget management/responsibilityCompensation & Total RewardsRelocation Package: Available for qualified candidates outside the local area.Health & Wellness: 100% Company-Paid Medical Premiums, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability.Retirement: 100% 401(k) Match up to 6%.Time Off: Competitive Paid Vacation and PTO package.
