About the role
- Cuts, trims, trays meat for display, according to company standards
- Operates grinder, saw, knife sharpener, tenderizer, slicer
- Weighs / wraps / labels product packages for sale
- Rotates product in meat cooler, sales floor; ensures proper storage practices
- Consistently communicates to ensure the highest quality and freshness standards are met
- Generates production list and scans re-works
- Practices safety awareness; safely performs meat cutting duties at all times
- Performs other cross-functional Market duties as needed
- Customer Service:
- Provides great customer service by cutting meat products appropriately, labeling correctly, and keeping shelves stocked to have the best product available for the customer
- Food Safety / Sanitation:
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases; properly operates / maintains equipment
- Complies with department / store operating procedures and federal / state regulations
- Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Knowledge of all JVSS Meat Cutter training aids and SOPsKnowledge of product rotation, department / store sanitation, shrink awareness
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks
- Ability to practice safety awareness and safely perform meat cutting duties at all times
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks
- Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs
- Constantly stand, reach at waist, grasp
- Constantly be exposed to cold (non-weather) conditionsFrequently be exposed to wet (non-weather) conditionsFrequently push / pull with arms and make movements with ulnar deviation
- Occasionally walk, reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, pinch, and use fine motor movements
- Occasionally be exposed to loud noise
- Occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic materials
- Safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts
- Demonstrate the ability to lift 90 lbs, and manage in excess of 90 lbs
