Job Description
Position Summary:
New Vision Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and dependable Production Manager to oversee daily manufactured-home production operations. This position leads production supervisors, leads, and employees while ensuring production goals are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to quality standards.
The Production Manager must be a strong, hands-on leader who can hold employees accountable, solve production problems, and keep multiple departments working together.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee daily production operations across all assigned departments.
Lead, coach, and hold production supervisors and leads accountable.
Establish daily production goals and ensure deadlines and shipping schedules are met.
Coordinate staffing, workflow, materials, equipment, and department priorities.
Monitor productivity, labor hours, overtime, attendance, downtime, rework, and material waste.
Identify production delays or bottlenecks and take immediate corrective action.
Ensure homes meet company quality standards throughout the production process.
Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Maintenance, Shipping, Safety, and Human Resources.
Enforce workplace safety requirements, PPE rules, housekeeping standards, and company policies.
Assist with employee hiring, onboarding, training, evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary action in coordination with HR.
Conduct regular meetings with supervisors and provide clear production expectations.
Address employee concerns professionally and consistently.
Review production reports and communicate progress, concerns, and staffing needs to senior management.
Support process improvements that increase safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
Maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable work environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
College degree in manufacturing, operations, management, or a related field preferred.
At least five years of manufacturing or production experience preferred.
At least three years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Manufactured-home, construction, or building-material experience is strongly preferred.
Experience managing multiple departments, supervisors, and production priorities.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read production schedules, reports, measurements, and construction drawings.
Knowledge of production safety, quality control, and continuous-improvement practices.
Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and production-reporting systems.
Bilingual English and Spanish is helpful but not required.
Must be dependable and able to maintain regular attendance.
Physical and Work Requirements
Ability to regularly walk and stand throughout the production facility.
Ability to bend, climb, reach, and work around active production equipment.
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds when necessary.
Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, heat, cold, and changing temperatures.
Must wear all required personal protective equipment.
Schedule
The regular production schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 6:00am to 3:30 pm
Additional hours, early mornings, evenings, or Saturdays may be required depending on production needs.
