Performs standard and complex EEG Recordings under minimal direction and/or serves as senior technologist with a responsibility for work assignment and in-service training instruction of junior personnel. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities: Performs all diagnostic Electroencephalographic procedures within assigned areas. Reviews all necessary documentation to perform diagnostic procedures. Performs preventative visual and manual inspections for each Electroencephalographic room/equipment assigned, ensuring appropriate maintenance and cleanliness. Provides training to ancillary personnel as required. Assumes in charge position in the absence of supervisor personnel as required. Types all applicable information into the computer system. Contributes to an effective quality management and quality control program for assigned area that is consistent with overall departmental/hospital quality management plan. Completes non-therapeutic functions under the direction of MD, PA, APRN or RN.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Traineeship of the duration of one year, followed by not less than one year of full time experience in an EEG Laboratory following; completion of one year of college or university with emphasis on physical or biological science or High school graduate with emphasis on physical or biological science. Physical DemandWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. They may frequently be required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. They may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
