Job Description: Spherion is currently seeking qualified Bottle Line Warehouse Workers for the NIGHT SHIFT in Geismar, LA.
Position Overview: Responsible for pulling, stocking, packing, and sorting individual bottles and full cases of wine and spirits within the facility's dedicated bottle room and conveyor line areas. This position relies on voice-directed headsets (Voice Pick Systems) to receive real-time location and item instructions to accurately fulfill high-volume orders.
Core Responsibilities: Voice-Directed Order Picking: Wear a voice-directed headset (e.g., Vocollect/Honeywell Voice) to navigate pick modules, locate bottle pick slots, and confirm item counts by speaking system check digits. Bottle & Case Line Assembly: Stock and select individual bottles from forward pick locations to build split-case or custom sales orders, placing them on automated conveyor lines for packing and labeling. Breakage & Returns Handling: Sort and re-box undamaged inventory from damaged cases, safely dispose of broken glass per safety protocols, and restock returned bottles. Equipment Operation: Safely operate manual and powered warehouse equipment, such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, or hand trucks to restock pick slots and move staged pallets. Quality & Inventory Control: Inspect labels, seals, and bottle integrity during picking to ensure 100% order accuracy before items proceed down the line. Sanitation & Safety: Keep assigned pick aisles clear, maintain a clean workspace free of debris, and strictly observe all OSHA and site safety guidelines. Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Lifting Requirements: Regularly lift, lower, carry, and move up to 48–50 lbs (weight of standard full wine/spirit cases).Movement: Requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, and repetitive lifting/reaching for 8–10+ hour shifts. Environment: Fast-paced warehouse setting requiring continuous focus, clear verbal communication over headsets, and occasional seasonal overtime.
Qualifications & Requirements: Hands-on experience with Voice Pick Systems (Vocollect, Honeywell Voice, or similar hands-free headset systems) is required. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.1+ years of warehouse, line production, or split-case picking experience preferred. Ability to understand and speak clearly over audio headsets in a noisy warehouse environment. Prior experience operating electric pallet jacks or motorized material handling equipment is a plus.
