About the role
Gloucester Marine Terminal Winter Internship Program The Gloucester Marine Terminal is operated by Gloucester Terminals LLC and offers stevedoring and break bulk services. The terminal, located in the Port of Philadelphia has direct access to highways as well as three rail lines that transit across the United States and Canada, providing unrivaled turnaround times for our partners.
Position Summary:
The Gloucester Terminals Winter Internship Program offers students hands-on, terminal-specific experience in the Quality, Regulation, and Compliance Division within the Safety Department. Interns will support day-to-day operations, contribute to real projects, and gain practical experience in a professional marine terminal environment. This is a paid, full-time winter internship designed to provide meaningful work experience and exposure to terminal operations, safety, quality, regulatory, and compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting daily activities and ongoing projects within the Quality, Regulation, and Compliance Division
- Assisting with research, reporting, documentation, and administrative tasks
- Supporting safety, quality, regulatory, and compliance initiatives within terminal operations
- Collaborating with team members to meet project goals and deadlines
- Participating in meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Applying academic knowledge to real-world marine terminal and business challenges
- Maintaining professionalism, organization, safety awareness, and accountability in assigned work
- Learning & Development
- Gain hands-on experience in a professional marine terminal environment
- Learn about terminal operations and quality, regulatory, compliance, and safety practices
- Develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university or relevant training program
- Interest in gaining professional experience in marine terminal operations, safety, quality, regulation, or compliance
- Strong communication and basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and accept feedback
- Dependable and professional work ethic
