About the Role:
The Heavy Equipment Operator will safely operate heavy equipment, such as loaders and trucks, to manufacture compost and other soil amendments.
Shift:
M-F 7AM-5:30PM and rotating Saturdays 7AM-3PM (Job Type: Full-time) | Location: Sarasota, FL

Responsibilities:

Maintaincollaborativeworkingrelationshipswithdrivers, operators, andcoworkers

Minimum Job Qualifications: HighSchoolDiplomaorGEDpreferred
Stateissueddriver'slicense
OSHA 10 or higher certificate preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

Position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, hearingprotection, safety-toedboots, utilitygloves, hardhat, reflectivevest, andsafetyglasses.
Abilitytositforextendedperiodswhileoperatingheavyequipment, aswellasenterandexit equipment safely and repeatedly throughout the workday.
Manualdexterityandhand-eyecoordinationare necessarytooperatemachinerycontrolswith precision.
Auditoryandvisualacuitytomonitorsurroundings, equipmentsounds, andsafetysignals(with or without corrective devices).
Frequentwalking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, andkneelingrequiredinoutdoorand uneven terrain environments.
Tolerancetoworkinenvironmentswithstrongodors, dust, humidity, andvaryingweather conditions (hot, cold, wet).
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
