Reports To: EVP Growth and Marketing
Location: Washington, D.C
The Role: We're looking for an experienced Broadcast Systems Sales Engineer to own the overall pre-sales process for BMG's system design and integration projects. You'll work directly with prospects during pre-sales to understand and discuss their technical needs, design solutions that fit, and put together the bills of materials (BOMs) that underpin our proposals. You'll report to the EVP, Growth and Marketing and work closely with key members of the sales team as well as BMG's engineering team, serving as the bridge between what the client needs and what our engineers build. This role is AI-native: you'll use Claude for research, solution scoping, BOM and proposal development, and technical documentation.
What You'll Do: The Broadcast System Sales Engineer combines technical expertise in television, radio, and streaming infrastructure with commercial sales skills to demonstrate, design, and sell broadcast system design, installation and managed services.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Sales Ownership, Own the end-to-end pre-sales process for BMG system design and integration projects, from first technical conversation through final proposal
  • Technical Consultation, Engage directly with prospects pre-sales to discuss technical needs and serve as the main technical advisor for complex broadcast systems
  • Solution Design, Custom workflows and equipment configurations
  • Product Demonstrations, High-impact demos and POC tests
  • Proposal & RFP Support, Build bills of materials (BOMs), RFP responses, and price quotes
  • Client Relationships, Trust-building with engineers and media networks
  • Cross-Team Collaboration, Partner closely with key sales team members and the BMG engineering team to align solutions, scope, and pricing
  • What We're Looking ForEducation: Bachelors in Broadcast Engineering or related field
Experience: 5+ years in technical pre-sales, systems integration, or broadcast engineering
Technical Skills:
  • IP video (SMPTE ST 2110), SDI routing, RF transmission, encoding/streaming, playout automation
  • Communication Skills: Translating technical specs into business value for non-technical buyers
  • Daily AI experience; ability to use AI for market research and analysis
  • Comfort with sales process and ability to partner closely with the sales organization
