About the role
- Maintain and repair dies and detailed tooling components.
- Measure, examine, and test dies to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
- Determine product dimensions and tolerances.
- Monitor the accuracy of the dies during the fabricating process.
- Install and repair die tooling, working with progressive stamping presses.
- Troubleshoot probable causes of defective parts, and use root-cause failure analysis to make improvements.
- Interact with Production personnel to improve efficiency of set up times and to minimize machine downtime due to die failures.
- Utilize both large and small hand tools to perform necessary repairs equipment (mills, grinders, lathes, drill presses, milling machines, shapers.)Read and interpret detailed Engineering drawings and utilize precision measuring equipment
- Performs all duties to the prescribed standard.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Must be familiar with progressive, forming and compound dies.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to set-up and operate Tool/Die equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints required.
- Use of measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges required.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; sit and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
