This hands-on role will work closely with the Controller and play an important part in the monthly close, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and continuous improvement of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, takes ownership of their work, enjoys identifying and resolving discrepancies, and is comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-channel consumer products environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close. Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and account reconciliations. Review general ledger activity and investigate account variances and discrepancies. Support preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting. Assist with inventory and physical inventories. Provide accounting oversight and support for accounts payable, corporate credit cards, cash, and banking activities. Prepare schedules and documentation for annual financial reviews, tax preparation, and other compliance requirements. Maintain strong accounting documentation and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes and workflows. Support SAPB1 and other financial systems.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field; CPA preferred.· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with the ability to work with teams implementing new procedures preferably in wholesale distribution, importing, consumer products, or manufacturing,· Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory accounting, cost accounting, and ERP systems.· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; SAP Business One and Bill.com experience preferred.
