About the role

Tool Builder This position will focus on building, assembling, fitting, and modifying tooling and automation components from mechanical prints and engineering drawings. Candidates should have hands-on experience working in a machine build, tooling, fixture, or automation environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Build tooling, fixtures, and mechanical assemblies from prints and drawings
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and engineering prints
  • Fit, assemble, align, and adjust tooling components
  • Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, filing, and other manual fitting operations
  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Install and assemble components such as locating pins, clamps, brackets, stops, and tooling details
  • Troubleshoot fitment and mechanical issues during the build process
  • Make modifications and adjustments to tooling as required
  • Work closely with machine builders, engineers, and other skilled trades
  • Ensure tooling is assembled accurately and meets customer specifications
Qualifications:
  • Previous Tool Maker, Machine Builder, Die Maker, or Automation Tooling experience
  • Strong ability to build from prints
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Experience with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges
  • Experience with hand and power tools used in machine/tooling assembly
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot mechanical problems

  • Special machines or custom automation equipment
