This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a 100% Sports Medicine practice with an established referral base, immediate patient volume, strong physician leadership, and direct collaboration with orthopedic surgeons in one of Indiana's premier sports medicine programs. You'll focus exclusively on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries, sports-related conditions, and active patients of all ages while working alongside a high-volume orthopedic team.
Position Details:
Full-time, employed position 100% outpatient, Sports Medicine, no traditional primary care panel No inpatient responsibilities Collegial physician-led culture Opportunity to work with medical students and residents if desired Immediate access to a large established patient base This candidate will practice at IU Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Bloomington, where Sports Medicine physicians and Orthopedic Surgeons work side-by-side in the same location. This integrated model allows for: Real-time collaboration with orthopedic subspecialists Seamless patient transitions Same-day surgical consultations when appropriate A highly efficient and patient-centered care experience The practice includes: 15 physicians 14 advanced practice providers Extensive clinical support staff Established operational infrastructure and referral pathways Providers have access to the tools needed to practice comprehensive sports medicine, including: Musculoskeletal ultrasound Ultrasound-guided procedures PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapies On-site imaging Physical therapy partnerships Comprehensive orthopedic specialist support Sports Coverage Opportunities Coverage opportunities involving Indiana University athletics Relationships with IU Columbus athletics programs Team physician involvement with area high schools Established contracts with area High Schools Strong relationships with athletic trainers throughout the region You will care for: Collegiate athletes High school athletes Recreational athletes Active adults Community patients seeking expert sports medicine care Compensation & Benefits Base salary plus incentive opportunities Two-year income guarantee Sign-on bonus Quality bonus potential Comprehensive health, retirement, and malpractice coverage Paid time off annually CME support Relocation assistance (where applicable)
Qualifications:
MD or DO Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Fellowship training in Sports Medicine required New graduates and experienced physicians encouraged to apply Eligible for Indiana medical licensure Bloomington, Indiana is a progressive college town with the perfect blend of charm and culture.
