As we continue to strengthen andevolve our sporting program, we are seeking an outstanding Directorof Sport to provide strategic leadership for one of the largestschool sports programs in Australia, engaging more than 3,000students each week and to lead its next chapter of innovation, excellence and studentparticipation.
The Role: The Director of Sport willleadthe direction, operational excellence and ongoing development of Sport across our School. As the School's APSrepresentative and key sporting ambassador, the Director of Sportwill foster strong relationships with peak sportingbodies, drive competitive success, and ensure the continued growth and reputation of Caulfield Grammar School Sport within the APS andbroader independent school sector. You will provide leadership across alarge and diverse team, champion sporting participation andperformance, and create an exceptional experience for students, staff and families. With a strong focus on future planning, systemsimprovement and stakeholder engagement, you will continue toposition Caulfield Grammar School as a school of choice foraspiring young athletes and sportingstudents. This is a full-time ongoingopportunity, based across our metropolitancampuses.
Key Duties: Provide strategic leadership anddirection for Sport at Caulfield Grammar School, developing andimplementing the School's Sport Plan and ensuring alignmentwith the School's strategic priorities and future growthaspirations. Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Sport Department, fostering a culture ofaccountability, engagement, collaboration and professionalexcellence across staff, coaches andadministrators. Foster strong and collaborativerelationships with campus-basedteams Design, implement andcontinuously improve innovative sporting programs, frameworksand pathways that support participation, wellbeing andhigh-performance outcomes, while aligning with the School'sTeaching and Learning goals. Oversee the delivery of a comprehensive and inclusive sports program, ensuringopportunities for students of all abilities to participate, develop and excel. Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, campus leaders, staff, parents, APSrepresentatives and external sporting organisations tostrengthen stakeholder relationships and drive impactfuloutcomes. Act as the School'srepresentative within APS Sport and other key sportingnetworks, enhancing the profile, reputation and influence ofCGS Sport. Drive operational excellencethrough effective planning, policy development, resourceallocation, budgeting, risk management and continuousimprovement initiatives. Oversee the management ofsignificant operational and capital budgets, ensuringsustainable investment in people, programs, facilities andequipment. Ensure compliance with allrelevant legislative, governance, child safety and riskmanagement requirements, maintaining the highest standards ofsafety and accountability. Lead the ongoing review ofstructures, systems and processes to improve efficiency, consistency and service delivery across the Sport Department. Contribute as a trusted seniorleader to whole-of-school strategy, planning anddecision-making. Model and live the values andbehaviours of Caulfield Grammar School, creating a culturewhere people thrive and excellence iscelebrated.
Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Sport Administration, Business Management or a relateddiscipline. Significant experience leadingcomplex sporting programs with large participant numbers andworkforce cohorts. Exceptional leadershipcapability, with experience building, mentoring and inspiringhigh-performing teams. Demonstrated success indeveloping and executing strategic plans that delivermeasurable outcomes. Strong stakeholder engagementskills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at Executive level. Sound commercial, financial andoperational acumen, including experience with budgeting, resource management and governance. A forward-thinking mindset witha strong focus on innovation, continuous improvement andorganisational impact.
