About the Role: Tokio Marine Highland is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst with insurance industry experience to join our Finance team. This role combines financial analysis, business partnership, and technology-driven innovation to help leaders make informed business decisions. As the primary FP&A resource for the organization, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of reporting, forecasting, performance analytics, and process improvement initiatives that directly influence business performance. This position is based in the Chicago area and requires regular in-office attendance under our hybrid work arrangement (3 days per week).The ideal candidate brings strong FP&A experience, an understanding of insurance operations and performance metrics, and a passion for leveraging technology, automation, and AI-powered tools to improve reporting, uncover insights, and drive business performance. Working closely with business leaders, Finance team members, and our London FP&A team, you will play a key role in planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and continuous process improvement.
What You’ll Do: Develop and enhance financial dashboards, reports, and performance metrics that support business decision-making. Analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and key drivers, and communicate insights to leadership. Build and maintain management dashboards Create reports from the ground up Support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and variance analysis activities. Partner with business leaders to understand reporting needs and provide actionable recommendations. Leverage technology, automation, and AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve reporting efficiency, analytical capabilities, and business insights. Collaborate with Finance colleagues and business partners across the organization to support planning and performance management initiatives.
What We’re Looking For: 3+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, business analytics, or a related field. Insurance industry experience required, including property & casualty, health insurance, or other related insurance sectors. Experience analyzing business performance drivers such as revenue, premium, loss ratio, profitability, growth metrics, or other operational KPIs. Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial and operational insights clearly to leaders across the business and influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills. Experience creating dashboards, management reports, and business analyses. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets. Experience using technology and AI-powered tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to improve reporting, analysis, and productivity. Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Chicago area to support our hybrid work model.
Nice to Have: Experience working within a property & casualty insurer, health insurer, insurance agency, brokerage, managing general agent (MGA), or similar insurance organization. Experience with Workday, Power BI, SQL, or other reporting and analytics tools. Experience working with policy administration systems and insurance production, premium, loss, or profitability data. Additional Job Details: This hybrid position is based in Chicago, IL, with an expectation of 3 days in the office each week. The base salary range for this role is $100,000 – $130,000 annually. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, education, and internal pay equity.
