About the role
The Gaming Commission is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, highly motivated, and organized Program Assistant to support the Community Affairs Division. This role involves a variety of administrative and developmental tasks related to the Community Mitigation Fund Grant Program. The Program Assistant will also assist with organizing and supporting meetings of the Gaming Policy Advisory Subcommittees, including agenda preparation, assembling meeting materials, and minute-taking.
Responsibilities: Schedule and coordinate meetings with community members and
Prepare communications including memos, emails, reports, and other correspondence
Learn and utilize the database system for the Community Mitigation Fund
Schedule, attend, and take minutes at Gaming Policy Advisory ("GPAC") Subcommittee meetings and other meetings as needed (some in-state travel may be required)
Collect, manage, and maintain filing systems for documentation and information associated with the Community Mitigation Fund and GPAC subcommittees
Participate as a member of the Community Mitigation Fund review team
Collaborate in developing annual guidelines, standard forms, and tracking processes for Community Mitigation Fund programs
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
3–5 years of experience in a legal secretarial, paralegal, administrative, executive assistant, or project management support role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with grant program administration highly desirable
Proven ability to coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent proofreading, oral, and written communication skills
Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and similar project management tools
Strong research skills and ability to learn new computer systems and databases quickly
Ability to initiate organizational strategies to achieve goals
Successful completion of comprehensive background checks including credit check, CORI, drug screening, and fingerprinting
