About the role
Position Title: Acoustician Build your acoustics career with a specialized engineering consultancy where technical depth, project ownership, and long-term growth go hand in hand. We are seeking an experienced Acoustician to support building and construction projects through field measurements, acoustical analysis, technical reporting, drawing review, modeling, and construction administration. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with accomplished technical leaders while progressively taking on greater responsibility for projects, clients, and junior team members. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in acoustical consulting for construction and design projects, strong analytical and technical writing skills, and the ability to move comfortably between detailed engineering work, field environments, and collaborative project delivery.
Salary Range:
$95,000–$180,000 annually, DOEResponsibilities Perform field noise and vibration measurements using acoustical measurement equipment and established field procedures Conduct acoustical calculations, analyze measurement data, and complete noise, vibration, and other acoustical evaluations Prepare clear, organized technical reports, recommendations, and supporting project documentation Review architectural drawings, specifications and project documents to identify acoustical considerations and solutions Develop or support environmental and room acoustics models and computer simulations Provide construction administration support through field observations, submittal reviews, and coordination with project teams Manage project schedules, deliverables, and client communication based on experience level Coordinate smaller consulting projects independently and contribute to scopes of work and proposals Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants and internal team members throughout project design and construction Mentor junior staff, review technical work, and support quality standards as experience progresses Contribute to client relationships, technical initiatives and business development at the senior level
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in acoustics, mechanical engineering, engineering, or a related technical discipline Approximately 2+ years of directly relevant acoustical consulting experience, with level and responsibilities aligned to experience Experience supporting construction or architectural design projects through acoustical consulting Hands-on experience with field noise and vibration measurements, acoustical calculations, and technical analysis Experience reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, and other construction documents Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to perform and communicate detailed analytical work Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to translate analyses into clear reports and recommendations Strong organization, accountability, and attention to detail with the ability to meet project deadlines Clear communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and clients Ability to perform both office-based and field work, including occasional travel and work within active construction environments
Preferred Skills:
PE license or active progress toward professional engineering licensure Experience with CADNA, Odeon, or comparable acoustical modeling and simulation software Familiarity with Bluebeam and the ability to navigate architectural drawings in Revit Experience independently managing acoustical consulting projects and client relationships Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, or supporting business development activities Experience mentoring junior staff or reviewing technical work
