About the role

Postdoctoral Researcher In Organic Chemistry In the context of the CoCat-Light project, funded by the Agence Nationale de Recherche (ANR), we are recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Organic Chemistry F/H.This project focuses on the self-assembly of co-catalysts for photoredox/HAT catalytic processes. It aims to study and develop an innovative supramolecular photocatalytic methodology to generate, under mild conditions and with unprecedented efficiency, chlorine atoms by monoelectronic oxidation of chloride ions. You will be responsible for the methodological development of a photocatalytic process and the study of the reaction mechanism. Catalysis Photoredox You optimize catalytic conditions You study the extent of the reaction You perform reactions under pressure Mechanistic StudyYou conduct kinetic studies You determine association constants PhotoreactivityYou characterize the photoreactivity of complexes You conduct analyses by vibrational/electronic static and transient spectroscopiesYou perform DFT calculations Organic Synthesis You synthesize substrates Based on our preliminary results (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2024, e2024022964), the main objective of the project is the development of photocatalysts for the functionalization of alkanes You develop photocatalytic systems allowing the functionalization of alkanes under mild conditions and with high chemoselectivity You compare the activity of the developed systems with existing ones You contribute to the scientific dissemination of the results within the research group and through articles. Profile SoughtHolder of a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry, you have ideally already worked on photoredox catalysis for the functionalization of alkanes or in a related subject. You are rigorous and autonomous in your work You demonstrate good communication skills You are proficient in organic synthesis techniques, photoredox catalysis, and optical spectroscopiesYou are fluent in English (C1/B2 level) in a multicultural work environment Do you recognize yourself? Apply quickly! Minimum Education Level Required Level Level 8 Doctorate/equivalent degrees Specialization Physical Chemistry, Chemistry-Biology, Biochemistry LanguagesEnglish Advanced or independent
Additional Information: By joining this project, you will be integrated into the Nano-Organic Structures (NEO) and Molecular Spectroscopies (GSM) research groups, which work, among other things, on the development of new molecular and supramolecular architectures for catalysis, and the development of vibrational spectroscopies for the study of reaction mechanisms. You will be supervised by Jean-Marc VINCENT and Thierry TASSAING.Based in Talence - access tram B (stop « Peixotto ») bus, bike. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
