About the role

Chris & Associates Reporting is a small, locally owned court reporting company that is growing, and we're looking to add another reliable Digital Court Reporter to our network. We're especially looking for someone who is comfortable covering in-person assignments throughout South Florida. Our goal is to find a reporter we can build a good working relationship with and rely on when our clients need coverage. What the Work Looks Like Most of what we're looking for right now is in-person deposition coverage, along with hearings, trials, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings as they come up. Remote/Zoom assignments may also be available, but our biggest need is for someone who can physically cover proceedings throughout South Florida. This is a freelance/independent contractor position, so assignments will depend on client demand and your availability. There is flexibility, and you can accept the assignments that work for your schedule. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: AAERT Certified as a Digital Court Reporter. Has a minimum of 1 year of professional digital court reporting experience. Reliable and shows up when they commit to an assignment. Professional and comfortable working with attorneys and legal professionals. Accurate and detail-oriented. Good at communicating and responding to messages. Comfortable working independently. Interested in building a long-term working relationship. You should have the appropriate AAERT certification, equipment, software, and other resources needed to independently handle digital court reporting assignments. What We Value We're a small company, and we're looking for reporters who take pride in their work and want to be part of a reliable professional network. Communication, professionalism, accuracy, and dependability are extremely important to us. If you're an AAERT-certified Digital Court Reporter with at least one year of experience, enjoy in-person work, want flexible freelance assignments, and would like to work with a small company that is actively growing, we'd love to hear from you. When applying, please include a little information about your digital reporting experience, AAERT certification, the areas of South Florida you cover, and your general availability for in-person assignments.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
