We are working with a well-established financial institution that is looking to add a Sell-side Equity Research Associate to its Biotechnology research team in New York. This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded research platform covering innovative companies across the biotech and life sciences landscape. The role will involve supporting senior analysts across fundamental research, financial modeling, industry analysis, and the development of differentiated views on publicly traded companies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fundamental research on publicly traded biotechnology companies
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
  • Analyze clinical, commercial, and financial developments across the sector
  • Track clinical trial results, regulatory developments, competitive landscapes, and key catalysts
  • Assist with the preparation of research reports, earnings updates, and investment commentary
  • Monitor company news, industry trends, and relevant scientific developments
  • Participate in management meetings, investor calls, industry conferences, and expert discussions
  • Support senior analysts in developing differentiated investment views and communicating research to clients
Ideal Background:
  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in equity research, investment banking, or a closely related life sciences role
  • Strong interest in biotechnology and therapeutics
  • Solid financial modeling and valuation skills
  • Ability to understand and analyze clinical and scientific information
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced research environment
