About the role

Senior AI/ML Engineer | Healthcare AI X4 are partnered with a growing healthcare AI company that builds intelligent software for healthcare organizations. Their products use machine learning, generative AI and AI agents to cut through complex clinical and administrative work, so teams can make faster, better-informed decisions about patient care. Explainability, security and human oversight are built into how they work, and as they grow, they’re investing heavily in their AI engineering team. They’re now looking for a Lead AI/ML Engineer to drive the hands-on build and delivery of their AI, ML, generative AI and agentic automation work. This role has a clear focus: making AI dependable in production. You’ll own how models and AI agents are evaluated, monitored and kept reliable once they’re live. Much of the work supports a US government healthcare agency, so the systems you build will need to be secure, trustworthy and ready for real-world scale. You’ll lead engineers day to day and work closely with business and technology teams.
What you’ll be doing: AI/ML solution development. Build production AI and ML applications, develop ML models and generative AI features, and create the APIs and AI services that bring them to users. Agentic AI and automation. Build AI agents and automated workflows, integrate them with enterprise systems, and put the right controls and evaluation around how they behave. Team and technical leadership. Lead AI engineering teams, mentor junior engineers, and run architecture and code reviews. Production deployment and MLOps. Deploy AI solutions, set up CI/CD and monitoring, and support production releases. Collaboration and innovation. Work across business and technology teams, and research emerging AI technologies worth bringing in.
What you’ll need: 5+ years of relevant experience. Strong Python, AI/ML, cloud, API and leadership skills. Experience with MS SQL Server US citizenship. A bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Nice to have: An active security clearance. Experience working with government agencies or in healthcare. Hands-on experience with LLM evaluation frameworks, agent regression testing, prompt benchmarking and red-teaming. Production LLM observability, including rollback, versioning and drift detection.
Tools: Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow and scikit-learn; LangGraph and LangChain; OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models. Vector databases: Pinecone, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, pgvector or Milvus. Cloud and MLOps: AWS, Azure or GCP; Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow and Kubeflow. JavaScript or Node.js. If you’re interested, please apply to this role, or reach me directly at

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
