About the role
Skills Needed: Knowledge of and experience with Quick Books, Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, (Access, preferred) Associate degree in accounting (minimum requirement) Ability to analyze and report financial dataAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to multi-taskAbility to work well with othersStrong communication abilityResponsibilities: Process accounts payable on weekly basisProcess payroll semi-monthly or as contractually requiredPrepare and make bank deposits regularly (at least once a week) Transfer funds, as needed, between bank accountsKeep the Executive Director and Board Treasurer informed on the current status of operational bank accountsPrepare and deposit payroll taxes in accordance with federal guidelinesPrepare and submit quarterly federal payroll reports as well as quarterly state unemployment reportsAssist the Executive Director in the annual budget preparation and revisionsPrepare monthly financial reports and other reports as needed for the Executive Director and the Board of DirectorsPerform monthly bank reconciliationsMaintain and provide documentation and reports for the annual auditMaintain financial records in an organized manner (hard copies as well as technology files) Consistently maintain financial records using the Quick Books programPrepare and file year-end W-2’s and the 1099 Ensure proper checks and balances on requests for and payment of expendituresMaintain specific records relating to grant allocations as well as assist with grant proposal preparations (fiscal components) Analyze fiscal data to provide input for decision-making by Executive Director and Board of DirectorsAttend Board meetings or other Board-related meetings, as needed
