Responsibilities: Hospital Valet Attendant serves as a first point of contact for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff arriving at the hospital. In a fast-paced environment, the Valet Attendant provides safe, courteous, and efficient valet parking services while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor. Responsibilities include greeting guests, parking and retrieving vehicles, assisting with directions, supporting patient transport needs as appropriate, and ensuring traffic flow remains safe and unobstructed at hospital entrances. The Valet Attendant must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, maintain awareness of emergency vehicle access routes, and respond appropriately during high-volume and emergency situations while adhering to all hospital safety, security, and confidentiality standards. Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements. Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. Related duties as assigned.
Additional Information: Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Required. Possession of a valid drivers license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements. Hands-on experience in driving vehicles including ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles. Ability to communicate so that others will understand both verbally and in writing. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed accuracy, follow through, and work with a minimum supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in hot/cold/wet weather conditions. Good communication skills and ability to establish good rapport with clients. Demonstrated ability to work with patients and employees. Must be able to effectively communicate with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles. Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
