We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Interior Designer to lead complex architectural projects from concept through completion. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong design sensibility, technical expertise, and proven leadership in managing teams, clients, and consultants.Key ResponsibilitiesHelp our clients achieve their goalsWork with Senior Interior Designers and Project Managers to meet KZF goals and objectivesSeek advice and counsel from Project Team and Director of Interior Design Services as neededSupport Project Team and Director of Interior Design with assigned projects or activitiesLead and mentor supporting designers on teamInterface with all professional disciplines assigned to the project to coordinate the Interior Design workWork with the Director and/or Project Team to establish design parameters consistent with the project scopeOver sees and participates in developing budget for hours for projectsPrepare design documents as required for all phases of design (concept, schematic, design development, construction documents)Conduct field investigations as required to understand project requirementsPrepare building interior design studies as requiredAssist with researching building materials and systems and select appropriate items for incorporation into the designMaintain a general knowledge of architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, fire protection and telecom building systems; coordinate these systems with the interior designPrepare documents in conformance with KZF standards and quality control requirementsAssist in the development and maintenance of interior design standards as assigned by the Director of ProjectSupport Business Development activities, including marketing proposals, interviews, conference attendance, etc.Ambassador and steward of the firm’s portfolio of work with ability to guide and educate othersBe able to prepare and set up presentations, FF&E standards, bid documents, material binders required by projectPromote design knowledge within the interior design group.Required QualificationsBachelor's or master's degree in interior designAdhere to a budget and timelinesAble to manage junior and intermediate designers on teamExperience producing Interior Design and construction documents in an A/E consulting firmProficiency in REVIT (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, SketchUp, ENSCAPE, visualization skillsComfortable with a broad range of projects in design typesFamiliarity and experience working with building codesFamiliarity with building design, and knowledge of material and furnitureProactive and assertive in problem solvingComfortable working on parallel assignments and working on multiple projects at a time.Comfortable working in teams and making group presentationsFamiliarity with A/E industry BIM standards a plusProficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation a plusLEED certification, and WELL AP a plusTo manage confidential, and sensitive informationGood written and oral communications skills; fluent in speaking, reading and writing in EnglishWilling to travel for workPreferred QualificationsExperience in Commercial, Industrial and Mixed-Use Developments including Civic, Public Safety, Education, Healthcare, etc.LEED accreditation or other sustainability credentialsFamiliarity with Deltek, Bluebeam, or other project management toolsWhy Join KZF Design?Collaborative and inclusive work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and leadershipCompetitive compensation and benefitsCommitment to design excellence and community impactBenefitsMedical & Dental Insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with company matchPaid Time Off & HolidaysProfessional Development SupportCollaborative, Inclusive Work CultureRecognition as one of Cincinnati’s Top 100 Places to Work since 2021KZF Design is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
