About the Role:
Tanya Creations is seeking an AI-first jewelry designer to help redefine how we develop fashion jewelry. This is not a traditional design position. We are looking for a designer who combines strong creative judgment and fashion sensibility with exceptional proficiency in generative AI tools. The successful candidate will use AI as a core part of the design process to rapidly research trends, develop concepts, create product variations, visualize collections and translate ideas into commercially viable fashion jewelry. The objective is simple: develop better product, explore significantly more ideas, and move from concept to market substantially faster than is possible through a traditional manual design process. The position can be based in Tanya Creations' Rhode Island office or Unique Designs' New Jersey office.
What You Will Do:
AI-Driven Product DesignUse generative AI tools to create new fashion-jewelry concepts, collections, variations, colorways and merchandising stories.
Translate trend direction, retailer briefs, competitive products and existing best sellers into commercially viable new designs.
Rapidly generate and evaluate multiple design directions rather than relying primarily on manual sketching.
Refine AI-generated concepts into accurate, realistic designs that can be understood and executed by product-development and manufacturing teams.
Commercial Product Development:
Design specifically for the customer, price point, consumer and manufacturing constraints—not simply for aesthetic appeal.
Work with sales, merchandising and product-development teams on programs for major retailers, licensed brands and e-commerce.
Analyze successful products, competitive assortments and trend references to identify opportunities for new styles.
Develop coherent collections rather than isolated designs.
AI Workflow Development:
Continuously test new AI design tools, models and workflows and recommend those that materially improve product development.
Build reusable prompt libraries, visual reference libraries, templates and workflows for different customers and product categories.
Help establish Tanya Creations' internal standards for AI-assisted design.
Train and support other members of the design and product-development teams in effective AI workflows.
What We Are Looking For:- RequiredStrong demonstrated proficiency with generative AI image and design tools.
- Formal education in fashion design, jewelry design, industrial design, product design, graphic design or a related discipline or meaningful professional design experience.
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals including proportion, form, color, materials, composition and trend interpretation.
- Ability to take an AI-generated concept and recognize what is commercially strong, technically incorrect or impractical to manufacture.
- Strong Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator skills.
- Portfolio demonstrating both design ability and substantial AI-generated design work.
- Strong curiosity and willingness to experiment with rapidly evolving technology.
- Ability to work quickly, handle multiple projects and respond to buyer or merchandising feedback. Strongly Preferred
- Professional experience in fashion jewelry, accessories, apparel or another fashion-driven consumer-product category.
- Understanding of fashion-jewelry materials and construction, including plating, stones, cast components, chains, findings and mixed materials.
- Experience designing product for mass-market or specialty retailers.
- Experience with tools such as Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT image generation, Stable Diffusion/FLUX, ComfyUI, Raspberry AI or similar creative AI platforms.
- Experience using image-to-image generation, reference images, inpainting, iterative editing and other controlled generative workflows.
- Experience converting concepts into specifications or development instructions for overseas factories.
What Success Looks Like:
Within the first year, this person should help Tanya Creations:
Significantly increase the number of commercially viable designs evaluated each season.
Reduce the time required to move from trend or customer brief to presentation-ready concepts.
Reduce unnecessary physical sampling by improving visualization before samples are ordered.
Increase the percentage of designs selected by sales teams and retail buyers.
Establish repeatable AI-design workflows that can be used by the broader Tanya Creations design organization. Who Will Excel in This RoleThe ideal candidate is not someone who simply knows how to write prompts.
We are looking for someone who combines the eye of a designer, the commercial judgment of a product developer and the curiosity of an AI power user.
You should be excited by the idea that AI allows a strong designer to explore 30 ideas in the time it previously took to develop three—and have the judgment to recognize which three are actually worth making.”Salary offered for the right Candidate $60,000.00- $80,000.00 per year
