Vallum Associates is supporting a leading aerospace and defense organization in the appointment of an Enterprise Quality Manager based in Lorton, VA.This senior position will provide Quality leadership across the Lorton operation while supporting wider Enterprise Quality initiatives. The role covers quality compliance, audit readiness, Quality Management Systems, corrective action and continuous improvement, working closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities: Lead quality compliance activities covering AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI, DCMA and customer audits. Coordinate audit preparation, findings, corrective actions and follow-up. Support the development and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Quality Management System. Develop quality metrics, dashboards and reporting to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities. Lead root cause analysis and systemic corrective-action initiatives. Provide Quality leadership across prototype, development and low-volume production programs. Support program Quality Plans and ensure contractual and customer requirements are appropriately implemented. Work with Supplier Quality and Inspection teams on supplier and product quality issues. Mentor Quality professionals and act as a senior technical resource across the organization.
Required Experience: 10+ years within Quality Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or a related technical environment. Strong knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.Experience leading internal, external and customer audits. Strong root cause analysis, corrective action and continuous improvement experience. Experience working across Engineering, Operations, Programs and Supply Chain. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills. Experience within aerospace, defense or government contracting is highly desirable, particularly exposure to CMMI, DCMA, AS9102, NPI/prototype manufacturing, Lean/Kaizen or enterprise QMS environments.
