About the role

Our client, an established financial services firm, is seeking a senior Fixed Income Operations leader to oversee a key post-trade operations function. This individual will be responsible for leading a team, managing day-to-day operational performance, and partnering closely with trading and senior management. The role requires someone who understands fixed income operations at a detailed level but can also take a broader view of controls, scalability, technology, and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals
  • Oversee post-trade activity across a diversified fixed income business
  • Manage complex trade, settlement, financing, and operational exceptions
  • Act as a senior escalation point for trading and business stakeholders
  • Oversee relationships with external service providers and operational partners
  • Work closely with trading teams to improve workflows and operational efficiency
  • Strengthen controls and identify opportunities to reduce operational risk
  • Drive automation and process-improvement initiatives
  • Support new products, technology enhancements, and broader business initiatives
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, Technology, Finance, and senior management on key operational matters Background
  • 10+ years of relevant financial services experience
  • Meaningful experience within Fixed Income Operations
  • Prior team-management experience
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income post-trade processes and market infrastructure
  • Experience with settlements, financing activity, reconciliations, and exception management
  • Experience overseeing vendors or third-party service providers is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of operational controls and risk management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
