About the role
Responsibilities:
Computational analysis of component-level and plant-wide thermal hydraulic transients to support safety analysis Develop and apply thermal-hydraulic analysis methods from steady state one dimensional network hydraulic analysis to transient, three-dimensional, component-level calculations Work with external vendors to integrate transient analysis approaches into a reactor simulator Key Quals and SkillsM.S. Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Chemical engineering (or equivalent) with application to Nuclear Systems 3-7 years' experience in Nuclear Systems Thermal-Hydraulic analysis and transients to support safety calculations 3-7 years' experience with a nuclear systems code (e.g. RELAP, SASSYS, GOTHIC, SAM, PRONGHORN, MELCORE)Knowledgeable of nuclear systems fundamentals such as thermal hydraulics, neutronics, dynamics, and general reactor transient behavior Demonstrated ability to participate on a multi-disciplinary team of engineers Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications. Bonus Experience with other reactor designs, especially fast spectrum systems, can be considered when differentiating candidates Molten Salt Reactor analysis is a big plus Familiarity with nuclear design, regulatory requirements, and risk-informed performance-based technology guidance for Non-Light Water Reactors is a plus (Licensing Modernization Project process described in NEI-18-04).
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
